What is Dexorange Syrup
Dexorange syrup is primarily used to prevent or treat iron, vitamin-B12 and folic acid deficiencies. Dark colored stools and bitter taste in mouth are common side effects due to iron content in this medicine. How Does Dexorange Syrup Work?
Dexorange is basically a composition of ferric ammonium citrate with iron between 16.5% and 18.5%.
It exerts hematinic action as iron is an essential part of it. Hematinic Dexorange is given as a source of iron to replenish iron inside the body.
The ferric form inside the dexorange is converted to the ferrous form and absorbed in the ferrous form itself. It is less absorbed in healthy individuals (about 10%) but up to 60% of the dose is absorbed in patients with iron deficiency anemia.
How to Take Dexorange Syrup
